About Me
Hey there! I am Wang, an aquascaping enthusiast based in Asia. I started keeping planted tanks back in 2019 when I set up my first 10-gallon jungle tank in my tiny apartment. Like most beginners, I made every mistake possible - algae explosions, dead plants, fish losses.
After years of trial and error (and way too much money spent on equipment I did not need), I realized that most beginner guides online were written by experts who had forgotten what it is like to be completely new.
That is why I built BeginnerAquascape. Every guide on this site is something I wish existed when I started. No gatekeeping, just practical, tested advice that actually works for beginners.

I only write about what I have personally tested. If I recommend a product, I have either used it myself or extensively researched community feedback.
I cite my sources. When I reference Tropica plant database or Dennis Wong fertilization research, I link directly to them.
I admit when I do not know. I am not a marine biologist or a professional aquascaper. I am an enthusiast who wants to help others avoid my mistakes.
